Wepwawet Wikipedia

This Wiki was created to serve as a repository of information for members of the House of Netjer and Kemetic Orthodoxy, as well as a resource for those seeking knowledge about Kemetic practices and ancient Egypt.

It was initially begun as a Wiki containing information on Wepwawet, the Opener of Ways, the Kemetic deity associated with possibility, new opportunities, doorways, pathways, and so forth. It was eventually decided that the Wiki be expanded to contain other information regarding other deities as well as the practices of Kemetic Orthodoxy. The Wiki retains its name in homage to Wepwawet, as information opens the way for understanding.

About the Faith

Netjer i njegova Imena

This is in keeping with Kemetic Orthodoxy's monolatrous view of god:

A monolatrous religion professes one divine force that is in turn comprised of other separate, yet interlinked aspects, like a team can be defined both as one entity (the sum of its parts) and by individual members themselves. The "gods and goddesses" of Ancient Egypt, while clearly differentiated from each other in some respects and not as clearly in others, also each represent an aspect of Netjer, as Its Names. The Names of Netjer are in addition to being individual entities, also representative aspects of the Self-Created One, and are parts of that whole Being. Each Name of Netjer, like the parts of the human body, has differing structure and function, yet each part is required to constitute the entire Person.[2]

Followers of Kemetic Orthodoxy realize that this is an uncommon take on ancient Egyptian deity but it is the most obvious choice for them, and therefore they accept this point of view. The information on the pages containing information about the different Names does not preclude the existence of discrete deities.

An extensive (but by no means complete) list of these Names can be viewed ovdje. Information on myths, roles, titles, appropriate offerings and so forth is available on each Name's individual page.

Festivals and Holidays

The Kemetic Calendar contains innumerable holidays and festivals. There are many celebrated by the people of Kemetic Orthodoxy. The most popular festival is Wep Ronpet, but there are many others, including Opet and the Wag Festival. As the Kemetic Year does not follow the Gregorian Calendar but rather a jedinstven solarni kalendar, these festivals are listed by their Kemetic dates. In general, Wep Ronpet or New Year's Day falls around the first or second week of August, and other dates may be reckoned from this date if no calendar is available.

Popis Festivali can be found here.
